Tom Quinlan Cup Round-Up: The Evening Herald – April 21 2016

TOM QUINLAN

Declan’s progress

ST DECLAN’S CBS will contest the semi-final of this year’s Tom Quinlan Cup following their emphatic 5-10 to 2-3 victory over defending champions St Fintan’s HS on Monday afternoon.

The Sutton school had secured last year’s title (which is a Gaelic Football competition for 1st year students) with a stunning 7-8 to 4-12 success against Ardscoil Ris, and with home advantage at their disposal, they were aiming to reach the decider for the third time in just four seasons.

However, it was the impressive Declan’s of Cabra who ultimately progressed, and they will be joined in the final-four by either Malahide CS or St Benildus College – who meet later today (2.0pm throw-in) at Broomfield.
