Dublin Schools Senior Hurling ‘C1’ Quarter-Final: Hartstown CS V St Joseph’s CBS – The Evening Herald – November 5 2015

Dublin SH ‘C1’ Q-FINAL

Higgins the Hartstown hero

RYAN Higgins was the hat-trick hero for Hartstown CS on Monday afternoon, when the northside outfit progressed to the semi-final of the Dublin Schools SH ‘C1’ Championship with a comprehensive triumph over St Joseph’s CBS.

Higgins raised a green flag during the opening period, and with Dublin U15 Development Squad member Eoghan Gleeson also registering a goal, they held a 3-4 to 1-2 interval advantage.

Ryan Farnan was providing leadership at midfield for Hartstown (who have a strong St Peregrine’s contingent), while netminder Adam O’Connor – a first year student – largely kept the Joseph’s attack at bay.

They were placed under pressure by Joseph’s at certain stages in the second half, but with Higgins adding a brace of goals, Hartstown secured a 5-8 to 2-2 success – and will now face Gaelscoil Reachrann in the penultimate round.
