Ulster Bank League Division 1A: St Mary’s College V Ballynahinch – The Sunday Independent – February 22 2015

St Mary’s College 32 Ballynahinch 25

Prop Brian McGovern came to the rescue of St Mary’s College at Templeville Road yesterday, when his 65th minute try helped the Templeogue outfit to edge an exciting top-flight encounter with Ballynahinch. The visitors made a bright start to the contest with a well-worked ninth-minute try from winger Ross Adair, but Mary’s subsequently assumed control of the proceedings with five-pointers of their own

A stoppage-time try by ‘Hinch centre Stuart Morrow reduced the Mary’s lead to 12 points (22-10) in time for the break, though, and with the help of touchdowns from Aaron Cairns and lock John Donnan, they had restored parity 17 minutes into the second period.

This left the game delicately poised heading into the final quarter, but it was McGovern who ultimately decided the contest 15 minutes from time.
