HOOPS SEAL THE POINTS
Shamrock Rvs 1
Bray Wanderers 0
BRAY will have to wait another week before ensuring their survival, after Sean O’Connor’s 41st-minute strike sealed Rovers the points.
Rovers provided most of the attacking threat in the first half, and but for the heroics of Wanderers shotstopper Stephen McGuinness, they would have broken the deadlock.
Resistance
McGuinness produced a spectacular fingertip save to deny Ciaran Kilduff on the stroke of 20 minutes.
Bray occasionally showed promise on the break through David Cassidy and lone front man Jake Kelly, but their stern resistance was broken four minutes before the break.
Kilduff was the supplier on this occasion, and after taking control of the Kildare native’s neat pass, O’Connor brilliantly curled a left-footed shot beyond the reach of the helpless McGuinness.
Saves
Magnificent McGuinness kept Bray in contention with a succession of saves from Simon Madden, Kilduff and Sheppard, but Rovers nevertheless emerged with a satisfactory triumph.
