Ulster Bank League Division 1A: St Mary’s College V Dolphin – The Sunday Independent – March 23 2014

St Mary’s College 20 Dolphin 7

FINAL-QUARTER tries by Darren Hudson and Dylan Fawsitt were crucial at Templeville Road as St Mary’s College secured a morale-boosting victory in a top-flight clash.

St Mary’s full-back Gavin Dunne eventually broke the deadlock with a penalty on the stroke of half-time.

This was a boost for the home team, but after a converted breakaway five-pointer from centre Cian Bohane, Dolphin had swung the pendulum in their direction.

But Mary’s reduced their deficit to the bare minimum moments after Bohane’s intervention courtesy of Dunne’s second three-pointer of the game, and at the end of a lengthy spell of pressure, Darren Hudson grounded to give the Templeogue outfit their first try in the contest.

Mary’s now had a vital edge and when the excellent Fawsitt drove over in the closing moments, they had sealed a hard-earned triumph.
