Lansdowne 18 Cork Con 24
A SECOND-HALF converted Chris Quinn try proved to be the difference between the teams at the Aviva Stadium, when Cork Con emerged with their second consecutive away victory over Lansdowne.
Lansdowne fell behind with eight minutes gone, after James Ryan touched down for a try that was converted expertly by Darragh Lyons. The holders restored parity on 15 minutes courtesy of a Foster Horan five-pointer.
Tom Daly was on hand to supply the bonuses, before a five-point contribution from the reliable place-kicker provided Lansdowne with a six-point cushion on the half-hour mark. The Temple Hill outfit brought a slender 14-13 advantage into the second period.
Mike Ruddock’s charges mat their way into the Con ‘22’ and it led to a well-worked try from Charlie Butterworth.
But it was Con who produced the better reaction, and after Quinn had helped the visitors to regain the lead, Lyons kicked an insurance penalty.
