CASTLEKNOCK Community College were crowned Dublin Schools Senior ‘B’ Football champions with an emphatic 4-11 to 1-4 victory against Malahide Community School at Abbotstown on Tuesday.

The Carpenterstown Road outfit were the dominant force throughout the contest as they added another piece of silverware to their ever-expanding trophy cabinet.

They were crowned Dublin Senior ‘B’ hurling winners just over 12 months ago in the same venue with current Dublin U20 footballer Luke Swan to the fore.

Following a superb semi-final win at the expense of Lucan CBS (7-8 to 2-13), Castleknock were in fine spirits for this test. Malahide had enjoyed a morale-boosting success of their own in the penultimate round, overcoming the challenge of Terenure College on a scoreline of 2-9 to 0-9.

Nevertheless, Castleknock produced a strong display at both ends of the field over the course of the hour and will now advance to a Leinster semi-final in the coming weeks.
