Dublin North fall short

DUBLIN North kick-started their Leinster Schools Senior ‘A’ Hurling Championship Group A campaign with a narrow defeat to St Kieran’s College at Pairc Barrog on Tuesday afternoon.
The Metropolitan outfit booked a spot in the main provincial competition as a result of a ‘group team’ win against Wexford Schools 10 days earlier. They will also face St Peter’s College and rival Sky Blues team Colaiste Eoin at a later date.
While they ultimately suffered a two-point reversal to schools hurling powerhouse Kieran’s (1-16 to 1-14), Paul O’Brien’s side can take plenty of positives into their subsequent encounters at this grade.
