Dublin Senior Football Championship Quarter-Final: Templeogue/Synge Street V St. Brigid’s – The Irish Times – October 18 2012

Cahill saves St Brigid’s

St Brigid’s 1-14 Templeogue/Synge St 2-9: BARRY CAHILL’S late goal helped champions St Brigid’s pip Templeogue/SS in the Dublin SFC quarter-final at Parnell Park.

Eoghan O’Gara notched an early 1-1 to help the south Dublin side off to a dream start. Brigid’s star Paddy Andrews kicked his side’s opening four points.

Templeogue’s Denis Bastick hit the crossbar from the penalty spot on 28 minutes but his goal 11 minutes into the second period and further scores from Alan O’Brien and Bastick ensured a four-point lead.

Brigid’s fought back with points from full-back Graham Norton and Ken Darcy and after Cahill’s goal on 56 minutes, late efforts from Darcy and Martin Cahill saw them over the line in the end.
