Gonzaga College progressed to the Leinster Schools Junior Cup semi-finals with a convincing victory over Naas CBS at Donnybrook yesterday.
Favourites Gonzaga opened the scoring with a George Morris try. Naas replied thanks to an Andrew Osborne penalty but their Ranelagh counterparts quickly reinforced their superiority with tries from Stephen Higgins and Hugo Neville giving Gonzaga a 19-3 interval lead.
With opposition centre Luka Hassett in the sin-bin, Osborne touched down for Naas shortly after the restart. Charlie Sheridan also bagged a try for the Kildare outfit on the stroke of full-time, but efforts by David Colbert, Hassett and Neville had, by that stage, secured a deserved triumph for Gonzaga.
