HFCS RATHCOOLE booked their spot in the Dublin Schools Senior Hurling ‘C1’ Championship decider with a hard-earned triumph over Hartstown Community School yesterday afternoon.
Despite being pushed all the way by their Blakestown counterparts, HFCS eventually progressed with four points to spare (2-12 to 3-5).
Elsewhere, Clonkeen College and St Mac Dara’s Community College both advanced to the last-four of the Dublin Senior ‘C’ Hurling grade with impressive victories in the past week.
Clonkeen were put to the pin of their collar by Colaiste Cois Life at Arthur Griffith Park last Thursday, before emerging with a 4-14 to 2-14 success. While they displayed impressive form in this last-eight affair, Mac Dara’s were commanding victors in their own quarter-final meeting against Lucan Community College in Tymon Park.
The Templeogue men safely advanced to the penultimate round courtesy of a comprehensive 6-14 to 0-4 win. Both sides have already met in the group stages of this competition and may well renew acquaintances before the season finishes.
Meanwhile, on Monday afternoon at nearby Russell Park, Castleknock Community College secured a safe passage to the Dublin Schools Juvenile ‘B’ Football final with an accomplished eight-point triumph – 5-9 to 2-10 – at the expense of Salesian College, Celbridge.
