ARDSCOIL Ris booked their place in the Leinster Juvenile ‘B’ Hurling Championship final with a 2-12 to 0-10 win at the expense of Gorey CS at Ballinakill, Wicklow GAA Training Centre last Thursday.
Despite coming under pressure for much of the opening period, Adam McAweeney and Aaron Cosgrove struck goals after the break to seal Ardscoil’s passage to a provincial decider.
Daniel Peel produced a fine display for the northside school, contributing four points in a tightly-contested first half.
Andrew Keegan and Paddy Gilroy also found the target, guiding Ardscoil towards a 0-9 to 0-8 interval cushion.
Though Gorey remained in the hunt, McAweeney’s three-pointer on the resumption afforded the Dublin champions some breathing space.
Indeed, after Cosgrove bagged their second goal of the contest, Michael Farrell’s outfit eased towards an accomplished eight-point victory.
