GAA: DUBLIN SFC ‘D’ FINAL
Rathcoole prevail
THANKS to a final-minute penalty from captain Alex O’Neill, HFCS Rathcoole secured the Dublin Schools SFC ‘D’ in dramatic fashion at Abbotstown on Tuesday.
With just four minutes remaining in the contest, Rathcoole trailed Moyle Park College by seven points.
However, courtesy of unanswered goals by Brendan O’Halloran, James Timmons (his second) and O’Neill, they snatched victory from the jaws of defeat – on a scoreline of 4-7 to 5-2.
This was a very poignant triumph for HFCS, as former Shelbourne underage star Izzy Dezu (who sadly passed away last December) was previously a member of the team.
