CASTLEKNOCK Community College were crowned Dublin Schools Junior ‘A’ Camogie Shield champions with an impressive 3-12 to 0-3 triumph over Colaiste Iosagain on Monday.
This caps off a memorable season for the Carpenterstown Road school, following their senior side’s success in their own ‘A’ shield decider on March 15.
While there was little to separate the teams in the opening stages, Castleknock gradually built up a sizeable advantage.
Caitlin Coffey hit 0-3 and was ably-assisted by midfield partner Ciara Golden. With their defence snuffing out the initial danger posed by Iosagain, the Castleknock attack were offered a strong platform. In addition to a brace of goals by full-forward Claudia Daly, outstanding displays from Aisling O’Neill, Aoife Coffey, Tara Coffey and Lucy Quinn ensured that ‘Knock finished with 18 points to spare.
