Powerful Gonzaga send out warning

Gonzaga College 44 CBS Naas 12: GONZAGA College sent out a warning to Clongowes yesterday when they swept aside a battling, but outclassed Naas CBS in this first round clash of the Leinster Schools Junior Cup.

The Ranelagh side were 17-0 in front after just 12 minutes thanks to a brace of tries from captain Andy Marks and one from secondrow Marco McVey.

McVey’s lineout partner Fionn Maguire got in for another try, and McVey’s second try earned Gonzaga a 27-5 half-time lead.

Andrew Kelly’s two tries did offer CBS some consolation.
