IT was a memorable few days for Dublin’s representative sides in the Leinster Schools Juvenile Hurling ‘A’ League, as they recorded impressive wins over the Kildare and Westmeath schools.
Dublin North had lost to Laois Schools in their opening game of the competition, but they got their campaign back on track with a goal-laden display against Kildare on Friday afternoon.
Fingallians attacker Eoin O’Connor amassed a personal haul of 2-4, while midfielder Eoin Wilde also finished with 1-4 to his name.
All of North’s starting forwards got their names on the scoresheet, and with Sam Carthy also contributing 1-2 from half-back, they registered a 6-20 to 3-8 triumph.
Dublin South secured the league title last year with a magnificent final victory against St Kieran’s College, and they stormed into an early lead over Westmeath in Mullingar on Monday.
Full-forward Jack Kielty was the scorer-in-chief for the Metropolitan outfit, but he was ably-assisted by Brian Keogh, Evan Dowling and Darragh Kenny.
They held an insurmountable advantage heading into the second-half, before a 1-1 salvo by substitute Liam Mostyn eventually helped North towards a comprehensive 6-12 to 0-7 win.
