STAR OF THE WEEK: Aoife Whelan (Castleknock CC)
IT was a day remember for Castleknock CC in Gorey last Saturday, as they booked their place in the All-Ireland Senior ‘C’ Camogie final with victory over Presentation Wexford.
There were a number of fine performances on the day, and skipper Aoife Whelan was highly influential for Castleknock.
She posed a constant threat to the Slaneyside defence in a close-fought encounter, and thanks to her strong leadership qualities (both on and off the field), Whelan is a worthy winner of this weekly award.
