LEINSTER SH A 1ST ROUND: DUBLIN STH 3-25 LAOIS 0-6
South are in super form as they dismiss Laois

CORMAC Quinn, Emmet Allen and Kevin Kirwan were stand-out performers at the National Sports Campus in Abbotstown on Saturday, as Dublin South secured a comprehensive 3-25 to 0-6 win over Laois Schools in the Leinster Schools’ SH ‘A’ ‘Group Team’ Section.
South had overcome Antrim Schools in the same venue on the previous weekend, and although Aaron Dunphy posed a threat for the visiting team, South quickly settled into their familiar stride. Courtesy of goals from Quinn, Allen and Kirwan, they brought a seemingly insurmountable 3-10 to 0-4 advantage into the second half.
This made it a damage limitation exercise for Laois upon the resumption, but with Ben Coffey, and Cuala’s Diarmaid O Floinn, and Mark Tracy continuing to perform strongly, South carried their momentum into the third-quarter. Kilmacud Crokes’ Tom Kehoe also impressed in midfield.
Substitute Fionn O Ceallaigh (from Colaiste Eoin) posing several problems for the O’Moore County outfit, South will enter their upcoming meeting with Dublin North in a confident mood.
