FOLLOWING recent impressive victories over Old Bawn CS and Clonkeen College, St Colmcille’s CS are on course for qualification to the knockout rounds of the Dublin Schools’ Juvenile ‘C’ Football Championship.

The Swords school have one game left in Roinn 1 against St Mac Dara’s Community College, but thanks to their successes to date over southside opposition, they are set to the contest a preliminary qualifier (prior to the competition’s quarter-final stage) with a team from Roinn 2.

Meanwhile, in the Dublin Schools’ Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship, Ardscoil Ris and Colaiste Eoin are in pole position to contest the competition’s showpiece decider, scheduled for October 18.

Ardscoil have recorded impressive wins over neighbours St Aidan’s CBS (2-12 to 0-6) and Colaiste Eanna (2-12 to 2-10), while Eoin have also enjoyed a 100pc start to their campaign.

Colaiste Eanna’s journey in this competition ended in a draw with Aidan’s on Tuesday, but their Collins Avenue counterparts from that game will face St Benildus College in a final group fixture next week.
