COLAISTE Eoin will contest the Leinster Schools’ Juvenile Hurling ‘B’ decider tomorrow after they secured a comprehensive 5-15 to 2-12 semi-final victory over Colaiste Choilm, Tullamore at Hawkfield on Tuesday afternoon.
The Gaelscoil progressed to the provincial stage as a result of their Dublin Juvenile ‘A’ success against St Benildus at the end of April, and they will be aiming to add further silverware when they face Gorey CS in Arklow.
The sides were quite evenly matched during the early exchanges, but with Iain Ó hEithir and Finn Ó Murchú offering strong leadership in defence, they eventually created daylight between themselves and their Offaly counterparts. Darrach Mac Giolla Bhride and Odhran Mac Gearailt registered goals in the opening period, and courtesy of an addition 2-0 haul from the excellent Conall Ó Tuathaill, they had developed a commanding nine-point interval lead.
Choilm had a number of promising goal-scoring opportunities after the restart, but they weren’t able to reduce their deficit to any great extent. Indeed, a second goal from Mac Gearailt effectively placed the outcome beyond doubt, and with midfielder Donal Mac Duinnsléibhe producing an outstanding display, Eoin eased through to Friday’s final.
