LUCAN CBS and Castleknock CC will contest the Dublin Juvenile ‘B’ Hurling Championship final, following their respective victories on Tuesday afternoon.

Lucan had lost to the Dublin Juvenile ‘B’ Football semi-final to St Declan’s CBS last November, and they welcomed the same opposition to their home pitch for another penultimate round encounter. Declan’s showcased a keen eye for goal at certain junctures in the play, but a well-drilled Lucan ultimately progressed on a scoreline of 9-14 to 4-2.

They will now face Castleknock in an eagerly-anticipated showpiece fixture, after the northside school registered a comprehensive win over Terenure College in their last-four tie.

Sean Sarsfields, Dean Saunders and Cillian Power provided ‘Nure with strong leadership in defence at Castleknock GAA, but they were nevertheless facing into a 2-6 to 0-1 deficit at the mid-way point.

Benjy Bowe recorded some fine scores for Terenure upon the resumption, but they couldn’t prevent their Carpenterstown Road counterparts from securing a 2-13 to 0-7 success.
