Keane proves to be very eager as St Benildus make it to final

ST BENILDUS COLLEGE……………………………… 1-19

ST FINTAN’S HS………………………………………. 1-6

Tom Keane contributed a magnificent 1-9 haul at UCD yesterday when St Benildus College booked their place in the Dublin Schools Senior Football ‘A’ Championship decider.

The Kilmacud school conceded an early scores to Fintan’s centre-forward Paul Tolan but a point by Glenn Soraghan was followed by a 1-1 salvo from Keane. St Benildus created significant daylight courtesy of scores by Tom Fox, Keane, Joseph Rafferty and Soraghan, and three quick points by Keane helped the south Dubliners to a 1-10 to 0-3 interval lead.

St Benildus maintained the momentum after the restart with points from Fox and Keane, yet St Fintan’s rallied with scores by Tolan and Conor Gibson. Even though Kevin Doran claimed a 48th-minute goal for the Sutton outfit, scores from Rafferty, Callum Pearson and Keane (free) saw St Benildus home.
