Dublin Schools’ Senior Football ‘A’ Championship Semi-Final: St Aidan’s CBS V Colaiste Eanna – The Evening Herald – February 11 2016

DUBLIN SCHOOLS SF ‘A’ CHAMPIONSHIP

Aidan’s boys are on course for another double

ADAM Conway helped himself to a brace of goals last Friday afternoon, when St Aidan’s CBS had nine points to spare (2-11 to 0-8) against Colaiste Eanna in the semi-final of the Dublin Schools’ SF ‘A’ Championship.

Aidan’s are hoping to claim their second successive title at this grade, and following the impressive final triumph for their junior side in their respective championship decider three days earlier, the possibility of another junior and senior double is beginning to loom large.

With Matt Moran (son of former Dublin footballer Paddy) leading by example in defence, the Collins Avenue outfit held a slender edge over Eanna for much of the opening period. In fact, courtesy of Conway’s first major of the contest, Aidan’s brought a five-point advantage into the interval.
This meant that Aidan’s were in a confident mood with the action re-started, and with Tony O’Sullivan and Paddy Small (brother of current county star John) producing outstanding displays, they controlled the second-half proceedings.

Indeed, an eye-catching run from Small created the platform for Conway’s second goal, and in spite of the best efforts from their Ballyroan opponents, Aidan’s progressed to the forthcoming showpiece in considerable style.
