CBC Monkstown claimed four tries at Anglesea Road as they eased into the last eight.

Dundalk had progressed to this stage as one of two finalists from the Fr Godfrey Cup, but they found themselves on the back foot early on and Monkstown pressure paid off with a try for loosehead prop Luke Hallam on 10 minutes.

Lock Liam Forster finished off another incisive attack on 17 minutes, and although Dundalk asked questions in the opposition 22, Monkstown brought a 10-0 cushion into the break.

After Monkstown had weathered an early second-half storm, they put the result beyond doubt 18 minutes from time when flanker Tadhg Quinn finished off a lineout maul.

Deep into stoppage-time, Monkstown full-back Theo Brady dotted down in the corner to add gloss to the scoreline.
