Leinster Schools Junior Cup first round
Cailean Mulvaney gave a star performance at Donnybrook yesterday when Belvedere College secured an opening round Leinster Schools’ Junior Cup win over Castleknock College.
Castleknock made a bright start with a brace of penalties from out-half Lennon Bracken, but following a 23rd-minute try from Adam Feely (in addition to a Mulvaney penalty), Belvedere led 8-6 at the break. Indeed, the 17-times champions increased their advantage with another Mulvaney place-kick after the restart, before an unanswered 10-point salvo from the impressive inside centre subsequently ensured their safe passage to the quarter-final stage.
