NADINE Doyle produced a stunning performance in Clanna Gael Fontenoy last Friday as her outstanding 5-4 haul helped Dunshaughlin CC to secure the Dublin Camogie Senior ‘B’ Championship against Scoil Mhuire, Clane.
With Doyle in exhilirating form at the edge of the square, the Meath school brought a 3-3 to 1-7 buffer into the break. Goals from Ciara Egan, Grainne Martin and Annie Harper ensured that Mhuire were within reach of their opponents, but with Doyle’s magnificent tally being supplemented by a three-pointer from Megan Thynne, Dunshaughlin sealed a four-point win (6-6 to 3-11).
Meanwhile, in the curtain-raiser at the Ringsend venue, Loreto Balbriggan claimed the Senior ‘C’ crown with a 6-13 to 0-4 victory over Holy Faith, Clontarf. Strong defensive displays by Laura Browne and Grainne Skelton provided Loreto with a platform, and although Holy Faith remained in touch initially, their Balbriggan counterparts created daylight prior to the interval.
Indeed, courtesy of terrific scoring contributions from Dara Bogan and Nicola Thorne, Loreto eased over the line.
