Blues out to end on Bath high

LEINSTER defence coach Kurt McQuilkin is hopeful the Blues can maintain their momentum against Bath in a dead rubber Champions Cup game this weekend.
Leo Cullen’s charges have recorded three consecutive Guinness Pro12 triumphs since their last outing in a doomed European campaign and want that form to continue at the RDS on Saturday.
McQuilkin admitted: “We’re motivated, we want to keep performing, we just want to keep that momentum rolling. Yeah, it’s a dead rubber but we want to perform for our supporters at home against a top side in Bath.
“Watching them perform against Toulon on Sunday we know exactly what they are going to bring so it will be another rugged, physical encounter. We’re obviously going to have to be aware of their pace out in the wider channels. It’s going to be a huge challenge.”
Emerging scrum-half Luke McGrath is expected to make his fourth appearance in the European Cup for the Blues.
And he added: “Being in this squad, everyone is so competitive. Everyone wants to win every game. We owe the fans who have travelled Europe for us. It’s going to be very competitive.”
