A BRACE of first-half goals from Luke Hughes provided the platform for Malahide CS’ success at Alfie Byrne Park on Friday afternoon, as they secured the Dublin JH ‘C’ title at the expense of St Kevin’s CBS.

Captain Sean Hawkshaw was an instrumental figure for the Broomfield side, and even though the Kevin’s attack posed a threat, Hughes’ two-goal salvo helped them to develop a 3-7 to 1-6 interval lead.

Kevin’s utilised their wind advantage after the resumption, and they were within touching distance for much of the second period. However, courtesy of a fourth goal by substitute Conor Hine, it was Malahide who were victorious.
