LEINSTER SH LEAGUE
North and Eoin both advance
DUBLIN North and Colaiste Eoin will contest the knockout stages of the Leinster Schools Senior Hurling ‘A’ League, following their impressive away victories against Castlecomer CS and Meath Schools, respectively, on Tuesday afternoon.
North had started their campaign with a hard-earned triumph over St Peter’s, Wexford last week, and courtesy of a goal from Brian Dennis, they held a four-point interval advantage (1-7 to 0-6) in their second group encounter against Castlecomer.
Ardscoil Ris sharpshooter Colin Currie contributed an outstanding personal tally of 0-9, and with half-forward Peter Feeney also registering 0-4 from play, the Metropolitan side progress to the semi-finals as winners of their three-team group.
They will be joined in the last-four by Colaiste Eoin, who had 19 points to spare (3-20 to 0-10) against Meath Schools in Dunganny.
CONTROL
With all six starting forwards getting their name on the scoresheet, the southside gaelscoil were always in control of the proceedings.
Indeed, the exceptional full-forward line of Fionn Ó Drisceoil, Fergal de Fuitleigh and Tomás Mac Eochaidh all found the back of the Meath net, as the Booterstown school advanced to the next stage in convincing fashion.
