Ulster Bank League Division 1A: St Mary’s College V Dolphin – The Sunday Independent – April 12 2015

Templeville Road St Mary’s College 45 (C Oliver 2 tries, S McCarthy, S Bradshaw, C Ruddock, R O’Loughlin, T Kennedy try each, R Crotty 4 cons, S Kearns con) Dolphin 18 (E Mills, N Scannell try each, R Scannell 2 pens, con)

ST Mary’s College registered a comfortable bonus-point win over Dolphin at Templeville Road yesterday, but it wasn’t enough to avoid a forthcoming relegation/promotion play-off with Division 1B runners-up Garryowen.

The hosts opened the scoring with an early converted score by Sean McCarthy, and although Dolphin moved into a six-point ascendancy (13-7) thanks to the combined forces of Eamon Mills and Rory Scannell, a second touchdown from Stephen Bradshaw ensured that Mary’s held a slender interval advantage. Thanks to outstanding five-pointers from Ciaran Ruddock, Conor Oliver (two) and Terry Kennedy, they were in rampant form upon the resumption.
