gaelic games: leinster juvenile f ‘d’ final
THERE was disappointment for Moyle Park College at Blessington yesterday afternoon, as the Clondalkin school were on the receiving end of a comprehensive 6-12 to 2-7 defeat to Colaiste Eoin, Hacketstown in the Leinster Schools’Juvenile Football ‘D’ decider.
Moyle Park had qualified for the provincial series following their county final success over CPSetanta, but with captain Eoghan Byrne leading the charge of their Carlow opponents, they were always facing an uphill battle in the Wicklow venue.
They had remained in contention during the first quarter, but thanks to three quick-fire goals from Hacketstown, they were facing into a 5-4 to 0-4 deficit at the start of the second period.
This left Johnny Roebuck’s side with an impossible task upon the resumption, and even though Eoin Richardsonand Seán Casey found the net for the hard-working Moyle Park, Eoin emerged with a convincing triumph.
