gaelic games: leinster juvenile hurling ‘a’ league
DUBLIN North continued their excellent start to the Leinster Schools’ Juvenile Hurling ‘A’ League on Monday afternoon, when they had nine points to spare (3-9 to 1-6) over Castlecomer CS in Kilkenny.
It proved to be a game of two halves in Castlecomer, however, and when the half-time whistle sounded, it was the hosts who held a slender 1-5 to 0-6 advantage. The introduction of Seán Foran helped to turn the game on its head, though, and the impressive Scoil Chaitriona attacker finished with 2-1 from the bench.
Craig Berrigan also added a goal to his side’s tally, and with Kevin Byrne, Castleknock’s David Bohan, Conor Scully and Mark Sweeney all impressing throughout, the Metropolitans comprehensively out-played their Noreside opponents in the second period.
This victory puts North in a strong position to finish top of their group, with fixtures against Carlow Schools and St Kieran’s College on the horizon.
