(After extra-time)
Dublin South secured an extra-time victory over rivals Dublin North at Parnell Park to progress to the Leinster School SH ‘A’ Championship quarter-final.
A superb goal from half-forward Colm Hayes brought the game to life early on and goals from Mark McGuire and corner-forward Aidan Mellett put the South in control.
North’s Colin Currie nevertheless amassed an impressive tally of 0-7 by the mid-way stage. Dynamic South midfielder Fox contributed 0-4 to his side’s total as they led 3-6 to 0-8 at the interval.
However, with Currie (two), Burke, Oisin Lanigan and Darragh Butler all on target, North cut the deficit to three points and they looked to set to snatch victory following a neat 1-1 salvo from Matthew Oliver. But a close-range point by South substitute Rian Doyle forced extra-time and South availed of their reprieve to finish the stronger side.
