Dublin Schools Juvenile Football ‘E’ Section 1 Final: Scoil Ui Chonaill V Colaiste Chillian – The Evening Herald – January 15 2015

Cordoza goals prove the difference for Chonaill

BY DAIRE WALSH

A BRACE of second-half goals from Kevin Cordoza proved decisive at St Brigid’s on Friday, as Scoil Uí Chonaill claimed the Dublin Schools Juvenile Football ‘E’ Section 1 title with a narrow victory over Coláiste Chillian.

Playing with the aid of a strongbreeze, Chillian mustered goals from Adam ó Murchú, Seamus ó Hannagáin and Seán Mac Sheorais in the opening period, but Scoil Uí Chonaill three-pointers by Ryan Cochrane and Richie Nugent ensured that just four points separated the teams at the midway stage (3-3 to 2-2).

Cordoza’s quick-fire efforts subsequently opened up a five-point cushion upon the resumption, and even though Cillian responded with an ó Murchú goal, strong performances from Troy Paris and Ross Burness helped Scoil Uí Chonaill to seal a 4-7 to 4-4 triumph.
