Anglesea Road Old Belvedere 22 (K O’Gorman, R O’Loughlin try each, J Glynn try, 1 pen, 2 cons) Dolphin 22 (N Scannell, C Rowe, J Quill try each, S Lee pen, con, E Mills con)
JOSH Glynn finished with an impressive personal tally of 12 points, but it wasn’t enough to give Old Belvedere victory at Anglesea Road where they drew 22 all with Dolphin.
The hosts had made a blistering start to the proceedings, and tries from Glynn and Kieran O’Gorman had helped them to build up a 15-point advantage.
A much-needed converted score from Niall Scannell ensured that Dolphin had reduced the deficit to eight (15-7) in time for the second half, and when Chris Rowe registered a further five-pointer upon the resumption, the game was back in the melting pot. A third Belvo try from Rory O’Loughlin looked like it was going to be enough to secure a triumph, but after John Quill crossed the whitewash for the Cork men, a dramatic stoppage-time place-kick by Stuart Lee led to a sharing of the spoils.
