Allianz National Hurling League Division 2B: Fingal V Armagh – The Irish Independent – February 24 2014

Daly derails Armagh’s late comeback bid

Fingal 2-18 Armagh 2-13

DAIRE WALSH – 24 FEBRUARY 2014

An 11-point haul by corner-forward JM Sheridan helped Fingal get their campaign back on track against 14-man Armagh at Drumnigh.

Despite losing half-forward Nathan Greene to a second yellow card 15 minutes from the end, the Orchard County rallied, with Fiachra Bradley kicking to the net in the 61st minute.

However, this proved to be a false dawn for the Ulster side, and a neat finish from close range by substitute Peter Daly ensured Fingal emerged with a much-needed triumph.

A 1-2 salvo from Kevin O’Flynn enabled Fingal to open up a five-point cushion early on but a Liam McKee goal kept Armagh in contention.
