DUBLIN SCHOOLS SH ‘B’ Q-FINAL: St Mac Dara’s V Castleknock CC – The Evening Herald

Kelly seals deal for Mac Dara’s in fierce Castleknock clash

ST MAC DARA’S CC……………………… 2-11

CASTLEKNOCK CC………………………. 1-08

A 52ND-MINUTE goal from Mac Dara’s sub Adam Kelly proved crucial in Wellington Lane on Monday.

A goal on the stroke of half-time from county minor Paul Winters meant that Castleknock only trailed by three points (0-7 to 1-1) at the midway stage.

This proved to be a major confidence booster for Castleknock, who moved into the lead seven minutes after the re-start following scores from Winters (2), Mikey McDonald, Graham Hannigan and Luke Whelan.

However, Mac Dara’s – who have Ryan O’Dwyer as part of their management team – soon regained the lead when a long-range free from centre-back Tom Devlin found the net. Kelly’s goal eight minutes from time helped seal the deal.
