Airtricity Premier Division: Bohemians V Bray Wanderers – The Irish Independent – April 27 2013

Lyons double proves the difference for Bohs

Bohemians 3 Bray Wds 2

GOALS in either half from Chris Lyons proved vital as Bohemians fought off a late surge by Bray to register their first league win in four matches in an entertaining clash at Dalymount Park.

Lyons fired Bohs ahead on 12 minutes after being set up by Ryan McEvoy’s great pass.

The visitors rallied to level matters in truly bizarre fashion on 24 minutes when Gary Dempsey’s powerful shot from long range took a wicked deflection off Kieran Waters, who was lying on the ground, before looping into the net off Bohs ‘keeper Dean Delany.

Aaron Callaghan’s men regrouped impressively for the start of the second period, and their persistence paid off after 64 minutes when Lyons grabbed his second by delicately chipping the advancing Darren Quigley.

The Gypsies looked like they were going to cruise to victory when a fine finish by veteran Dave Mulcahy three minutes later doubled their advantage, but a clinical strike past Delany by John Mulroy set the game up for an enticing final quarter.

There certainly were some edgy moments for the 11-time champions in the dying moments, but Bohs held out for three crucial points.
