Malahide take Quinlan Cup

MALAHIDE Community School were crowned Tom Quinlan Cup champions with a convincing 3-4 to 0-7 victory against Castleknock Community College at the National Games Development Centre in Abbotstown last Friday.

With skipper Dylan O’Rourke leading the way, Malahide – backed by a significant St Sylvester’s contingent – displayed their worth at both ends of the pitch the shake off the challenge posed by the Carpenterstown Road outfit. Interestingly, both set of supporters will return to the Blanchardstown venue next Tuesday when the schools meet in a Dublin Senior ‘B’ football decider (throw-in, 1.30pm).

Meanwhile, last Friday also saw Templeogue College claiming the Dublin Schools Junior ‘D’ Football Championship with a 5-15 to 1-6 triumph at the expense of St Paul’s, Raheny.
