Benildus win Junior ‘A’ crown

ST BENILDUS College squeezed past the challenge of St Aidan’s CBS at Russell Park last Friday to claim the Dublin Junior ‘A’ Football Championship.

Competing in their first final at this grade since February 2015 – when Aidan’s got the better of them in Ringsend – the Stillorgan outfit dug deep at the home of St Brigid’s GAA to ultimately secure the spoils by the slenderest of margins (1-10 to 1-9).

Meanwhile, Colaiste Eoin secured a hard-earned draw – 2-10 to 2-13 – at Portlaoise yesterday to earn themselves a spot in the semi-finals of the Leinster Schools Senior ‘A’ Hurling Championship. Earlier defeat to Kieran’s and Eoin had already ruled Dublin North out of contention and their group campaign ended in a 2-18 to 0-8 defeat at the hands of St Peter’s College.
