Not for the first time this season, St Patrick’s Athletic came back from two goals down to earn three vital points at Richmond Park last night.
Galway drew first blood with Shane Keogh finishing past Gary Rogers with a deft touch on nine minutes.
The Tribesmen went two up on 18 minutes through Alan Murphy’s penalty after his shot on goal had been handled en route by midfielder Paul Crowley. Daryl Kavanagh showed great composure to finish to the net from a one-on-one situation 23 minutes in.
Pat’s levelled with six minutes left in the half, as Crowley was on hand to head home from a Stephen Bradley free.
Pat’s then took the lead through an Evan McMillan header on 59 minutes. The rampant Saints added goals through Derek Doyle and Danny North in the 64th and 67th minutes respectively, which effectively killed off the game as a contest.
Galway’s Shaun Kelly was dismissed on a second yellow for a foul on North with 12 minutes remaining.
