Eoin and North out to make it an all-Dublin affair in final

COLÁISTE Eoin and Dublin North will resume their Leinster Schools Senior ‘A’ Hurling Championship campaigns this week with a singular goal in mind.
Both sides are 60 minutes away from making it an all-Dublin final for the first time since 1918.
In the inaugural year of the competition, Castleknock College got the better of O’Connell CBS to claim their sole Leinster title.
If they are to make history, they will need to overcome challenges posed by two heavyweight opponents. Eoin face Kilkenny CBS this Sunday afternoon, before North take on 55-time champions St Kieran’s College next Wednesday.
The latter is a rematch of last season’s decider – where Paul O’Brien’s Metropolitan had the measure of their Marble County rivals. Kieran’s subsequently bounced back to secure their 22nd All-Ireland title, increasing the anticipation ahead of their battle.
North lost out to Eoin in this year’s championship, though a quarter-final success against Good Counsel, New Ross ensures their back-to-back hopes remain alive. Eoin have also been brewing up a storm in the Leinster Senior ‘A’ Football this term and will be confident of reaching a hurling showpiece for the first time.
