CAPTAIN Karen Guthrie was outstanding at Croke Park as Donegal scored a win over defending Lidl National Football League champions Dublin.
The Glenfin ace – who shot 1-4 – was Player of the Match award in this Division 1 clash as the Dubs fell to a first competitive defeat since last March.
Guthrie scored a vital goal in the fifth minute after a superb Niamh Hegarty ball, firing past Sky Blues skipper for the night Ciara Trant.
It was 1-5 to 0-5 at the break and Nicole Owens’ quickfire double after it got Dublin going.
Sub Lyndsey Davey netted with her first touch in the 42nd minute but the Ulster ladies held firm, Guthrie rounding it off with a stoppage-time point.
