Cistercian College Roscrea crashed out of the Leinster Schools Senior Cup at the hands of Belvedere College at Donnybrook yesterday.

After fly-half Justin Leonard split the uprights off an early penalty, Cailean Mulvaney and Matthew Grogan crossed over in spectacular fashion, earning Belvo a 13-0 cushion in 10 minutes.

Roscrea fired back with a Diarmuid Kilgallen try but Belvo full-back Rory Dwyer touched down underneath the posts. Leonard hit two conversions and a clinical Alekseiy Soroka finish gave Belvo a 27-5 interval cushion.

Roscrea’s Kilgallen got a second try on 53 minutes.

Billy Foley converted but Aaron Coleman’s try killed any fight-back despite a late Roscrea try from Bill Burns.
