FAI Cup Semi-Final: Bohemians V Cork City – Story Of The Game – The Evening Echo – October 1 2018

Cummins adds impetus for City

Man of the Match

Kieran Sadlier (Cork City)

There were some fine performances on both sides, in what was described by John Caulfield as a “hell for leather” affair. Cork struggled to get Sadlier into the game at times, but he stepped up to the plate when required and is the reason City remain in this tie.

Save of the Game

Although Shane Supple made some fine stops of his own, City goalkeeper, Mark McNulty, used all of his experience to block Keith Ward’s path to goal on the half-hour. The dynamic Gypsies attacker was in an advanced position when his effort was saved by the feet of McNulty.

Turning Point

While they subsequently fell behind to a Dinny Corcoran close-range strike, the 56th-minute introduction of Graham Cummins added an extra dimension to the City attack. His physical presence proved valuable in the final-quarter and he was unlucky not to get himself on the scoresheet.
