Airtricity Premier Division: Bohemians V Shelbourne – The Irish Daily Star (Page 66) – August 21 2012

Gypsies grind out a late result

Bohemians 2 Shelbourne 2

THERE was late drama in Dalymount Park last night, as Keith Ward’s 91st minute penalty ensured that Bohemians and Shelbourne had to settle for a share of the spoils.

The defining moment of the opening period took 38 minutes to come, when linesman Allen Lynch raised his flag after a coming together between Kevin Feely and David Cassidy inside the Bohs box.

A penalty was subsequently awarded by Cork whistler Alan Kelly, and Shels’ danger man Philly Hughes stepped forward to drill the ball to the back of the Gypsies net.
There was a sense that Shels needed a second goal to kill this game off, but this was dealt a blow when Evan McMillan cancelled their lead on 77 minutes, connecting on an Owen Heary cross.

Shels took the lead back five minutes later when Kevin Dawson finished into an empty net.

Fouled

Feely then made up for his earlier inidscretion by earning his side a spot-kick on the stroke of 90 minutes after he was fouled by Cassidy inside the area, and Ward stepped up to secure a last-gasp draw for the Phisboro men.
