Dublin Schools Juvenile ‘C’ Hurling Championship Final: Skerries CC V Lucan CBS – The Evening Herald – May 31 2018

DUBLIN JUV ‘C’ HURLING FINAL

Skerries storm to final triumph

SKERRIES CC stormed to the Dublin Juvenile ‘C’ Hurling title with a stunning 7-19 to 2-13 win over Lucan CBS last Thursday.

Thanks to accomplished displays by Tomás Hegarty, Luke Whelan and Oscar McIvor, Skerries developed an early lead in Parnell’s GAA. Despite enjoying some positive moments in the opening half, Lucan struggled to contain their rampant opponents.

With Ethan Dunne and Keelan Hartford in fine form, Skerries were 4-13 to 1-6 in front on the half-hour. Although they were facing into a heavy deficit, Lucan persevered with their challenge.

Skerries remained in control as the action progressed, though, as Rory Boylan, Callan Kelly and Eric Grelet provided fresh impetus in the final third. Hegarty was outstanding throughout, and ultimately became the first captain from the Townparks school to lift silverware in a hurling competition.
