LORETO Beaufort produced an outstanding display to claim the Dublin Minor Camogie ‘A’ Shield at the expense of Castleknock CC last Thursday in Clanna Gael Fontenoy.
With Aine Rafter, Rachel Cullen, Mia Smyth and Lisa Webster scoring two goals apiece, Beaufort had all of 18 points to spare in the end (8-5 to 2-5).
However, thanks to three-pointers from Amy Powell and Tara Coffey, Castleknock found themselves in contention for large stretches.
Yet, once Rebekah Fitzpatrick and Saoirse Kavanagh began to exert their influence in midfield, Loreto turned on the style to eventually cruise towards a comprehensive triumph.
The Minor ‘B’ Shield showdown between Scoil Chaitriona and Portmarnock CS was due to take place on the same day, but will instead throw-in at 1.45pm this afternoon on St Mobhi Road.
