Castleknock College booked their place in the Leinster Schools’ Junior Cup semi-final with a comprehensive 23-point victory over CBC Monkstown at Donnybrook yesterday.
In addition to a brace of tries from No 8 Luke Callinan, full-back Oran Farrell also crossed the line for Castleknock in the opening half of this rearranged last-eight encounter. Indeed, Farrell extended their 15-0 interval advantage with a routine penalty after the break.
Monkstown finally responded with a Jack Reynolds try on 41 minutes, which was followed by an Eoin Quinn conversion.
However, Castleknock skipper Fionn Gibbons subsequently touched down on the third-quarter mark, before flanker Gavin Murphy-O’Kane completed the scoring for the eight-time champions in the closing stages.
