Castleknock advance with convincing win

Castleknock College 20-0 Gonzaga College

Castleknock College advanced to the next round with a comprehensive victory over Gonzaga at Castle Avenue.

‘Knock forced the Ranelagh school onto the back foot from the opening moments and broke the deadlock with a routine Oran Farrell penalty on three minutes.

Number eight Luke Callinan raced through a gap in the Gonzaga defence to touch down. Farrell added the extras in convincing fashion, helping Castleknock to bring a 10-0 lead into the interval. The impressive full-back was also on hand to extend their lead 12 minutes after the restart.

Castleknock completed the scoring with a powerful five-pointer from Gavin Murphy-O’Kane in stoppage-time.
